Eleven artists will be featured in the show: Jana Brike, Troy Brooks, Ronnie Burkett, Elif Varol Ergen, Ray Caesar, Sonya Fu, Ryan Heshka, Jessica Joslin, Heiko Müller, Aron Wiesenfeld and Selena Wong. Uniting the artists in this surreal Wunderkammer of mystery are the common themes of whimsy, sadness, arcane machinery, nature, isolation, comics, movies, spooky dreams, natural history and fairy tales.

Damien A Roman Fine Art is pleased announce our participation in SCOPE New York 2016.  The 16th edition of SCOPE New York returns to its location one block from the Armory Show Piers at Metropolitan West Pavilion located at 639 W 46th St. New York, NY 10036. 

In addition to its traditional booth offerings, SCOPE New York will feature its critically acclaimed, open-plan exhibition design. SCOPE New York maintains a decidedly thoughtful, polished presentation, rather than an array of small booths.  Exhibiting galleries flow beautifully into one another, creating curatorial narratives that encompass the entire show.

Ray Caesar, An  Eclectix Artist Interview

Ray Caesar creates gorgeously haunting combinations of the rococo, the romantic and contemporary surreal imagery, with bits of more modern fashions and sexual fetish. His artistic influences reference the French rococo, variations on the theme of the fête champêtre (which featured figures in ball dress or masquerade costumes disporting themselves amorously in parkland settings), Antoine Watteau, François Boucher, Dali and the Dutch painters.

Ray worked for years in the art & photography department of the Hospital For Sick Children in Toronto, documenting disturbing cases of child abuse, surgical reconstruction, psychology and animal research. Caesar’s experiences at the hospital continue to influence and shape his art. He works digitally, using 3D modeling software called Maya, mastered while working in animation for the television and film industries.
